What's new

Disaster Recovery: DR to Azure

DR to Microsoft Azure lets technicians configure Azure as a recovery site using the end-customer’s own subscription, enabling failover directly into Azure when the primary site is down.

Key Benefits

  • Offer DR to broader segments via Acronis Cloud or Microsoft Azure.
  • Use existing Microsoft contracts to drive Azure consumption.
  • Leverage existing backups in Acronis Cloud for DR to Azure.

Feature Highlights

  • Failover from backups stored in Azure, Acronis Cloud, or partner-hosted storage.
  • Wizard-driven site configuration in Azure via the Acronis console.
  • Support for physical & virtual workloads (incl. Windows desktops).
  • On-demand DR agents (no permanent appliances).
  • Cold DR mode; Warm DR (near-zero RTO) coming in future releases.
  • Automated test failover with AI screenshot verification.
  • Automated failback to physical & virtual machines with minimal downtime.
  • Broad Linux OS support with minimal manual fixes.
  • Runbooks to automate DR scenarios.

Licensing: Acronis Disaster Recovery.

Disaster Recovery: Added support for Alma Linux

Protect workloads running Alma Linux 8.x and 9.x with DR.

Licensing: All licenses.

Advanced Security + XDR: Acronis EDR with Microsoft Defender Antivirus

Acronis EDR now integrates with Microsoft Defender AV for unified visibility, advanced protection, and simplified management across all Microsoft license tiers.

Key Benefits

  • Centralize management even with basic Microsoft security tiers.
  • Gain deeper insight into Defender detections in Acronis EDR.
  • Configure Defender settings via Acronis protection plans.

Implementation notes

  • Defender detections generate EDR incidents.
  • Quarantine handled by Defender; Acronis adds restore, isolation, forensic backup, patching.
  • XDR graph not available for Defender-triggered incidents.
  • If Defender provides real-time AV/AM, Acronis Real-time protection is disabled.

Licensing: Advanced Security + XDR.

Antivirus & Antimalware: Global exclusions at partner level

Apply exclusion entries across all customer workloads under a partner — no need to edit each tenant plan.

  • Operational efficiency & fewer errors via standardized policy.
  • Faster false-positive handling.
  • Simplified policy management at scale.

Licensing: All Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud licenses.

Antivirus & Antimalware: Enhanced malware detection with Intel Core Ultra

  • CNN-based behavioral analysis for sophisticated threats and zero-days.
  • Performance optimized via Intel TDT, offloading heavy tasks to the NPU.

Licensing: All Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud licenses.

Backup: View immutable storage occupied by deleted archives

Usage reports and UI now show immutable storage consumed by deleted archives for improved capacity planning.

Licensing: All Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud licenses.

Backup: Avoid double backup of SharePoint sites and Group mailboxes

The UI indicates group-to-team relationships and warns when applying a plan to an already protected group. Group details also display protection status.

Key Benefits

  • Reduced costs with Per-GB billing.
  • Cleaner UX with less clutter under Groups.
  • Faster M365 backups due to less data & fewer throttling incidents.

Licensing: Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud only; Microsoft 365 Business Backup only.

Acronis RMM: Copilot for software package deployment AI

  • Automate package metadata and install/uninstall commands.
  • Enable/Disable assistance; revert as needed.
  • Simplifies complex uninstall scenarios with tailored arguments & exit codes.

Licensing: Acronis RMM.

Acronis RMM: Patch deployment scoring AI

  • Assess patch stability to avoid downtime.
  • AI insights accelerate decision-making and reduce risk.
  • Validate stability pre-deployment; monitor status shifts to react quickly.

Licensing: Acronis RMM.

Cloud Management portal: AI Copilot integrated with Acronis Knowledge Base AI

Embedded Copilot now leverages KB content for faster troubleshooting and customer responses.

Licensing: All Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud licenses.

Cyber Cloud Integrations: Workflow automation (EAP)

  • Reduce alert noise with granular triggers and delivery rules.
  • Automate responses for XDR/EDR, RMM Patch Management, PSA ticketing, and more.

Licensing: All Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud licenses.
